As previously reported, the BBC has confirmed that they will be closing some of their ASTRA fed digital satellite services on Friday 7th October 2011. The changes relate to the BBC Trust’s review, the available funds and affects the provision of video streams found via the red button. On behalf of the BBC the CAI would like to stress that the changes are not in any way related to digital switchover or terrestrial services available through an aerial. The official BBC explanation of all the changes can be found at http://www.bbc.co.uk/reception/info/sat_frequencies.shtml. From here there is a BBC Blog link that takes you to the latest ‘red button’ news from the BBC.
